7 Health Reasons to Sleep Naked Tonight + Every Night After That

Okay so hear me out on this one.

When I first heard my friend say his mate slept naked, I have to say I felt freaked out and a bit violated.

How dare he sleep naked?

Why wouldn’t he cover himself?

Wouldn’t he be cold?

What if a robber came in?

Turns out sleeping in the nude has great health benefits, and if you were robbed the robbers would probably be more scared of a naked man than one fully clothed.

So what are the benefits of sleeping naked exactly?

Here they go!

1. YOU FALL ASLEEP FASTER, AND SLEEP LONGER

Studies show that sleeping naked helps you fall asleep faster. Your clothes are one less thing to think about, as sometimes your nightie can make you too hot or too cold.

When you sleep naked, you feel more free and your temperature normalizes itself. This helps burn more calories as well, as your body does it’s thing and keeps your temperature just right throughout the night.

Word on the street is the best temperature is 66 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. MALE + FEMALE PRIVATE PARTS REMAIN HEALTHIER

And health is wealth! Am I right?

Seriously though, it seems that men who wear tight underwear are shown to have lower sperm counts than men that sleep naked or wear boxers.

On the flip side, same goes for the ladies. It is good for vaginal health to keep underwear off as often as possible to air it out, keeping the natural PH levels in tact and lessening the occurrence of yeast infections.

3. LOWERS ANXIETY AND STRESS LEVELS

Sleeping naked lowers overall stress levels and keeps you less anxious than normal. Sleeping naked allows you to get a great night sleep, and helps you stay sleeping longer which can help you have a more productive day at work.

4. HELPS YOU LOVE YOUR BODY, AND YOURSELF

Many of us dread that first mirror look in the morning, scared we have become what we are the previous days before which is ever so common.  Being honest with ourselves about what we look like and avoiding the scale and mirror only hurts us in the long run. We need to be honest with ourselves, and see ourselves for the weight we truly are, and the weight we should be at to remain healthier and live our longest and happiest lives. Sleeping naked helps us achieve a better self image as we embrace our bodies as they are and make each days habits count. Eating a healthy diet is key, and there are many programs to help you be your best. FitnessPal.com and WeightWatchers.com are two that could help you track your intake and exercise to help you live with vigor.

5. MORE SLEEP, LESS SERIOUS HEALTH PROBLEMS

There are studies that show that those that sleep longer are less likely to contract diabetes and heart disease. Some studies show that heart disease is more common for people that sleep less than 5 hours a night. When you let your brain and body rest, you give yourself the opportunity to live life well rested and less cranky.

6. SLEEPING NAKED WITH YOUR PARTNER HELP THE CHEMICAL OXYTOCIN ROMANCE

It turns out that when you sleep naked with your partner your body produces oxytocin in the brain that triggers happiness and makes sex easier. Win-win combo!

7. SLEEPING NAKED IS GOOD FOR YOUR SKIN

Your skin just feels better when you give it some air! Tight pants are cool and all, but your body needs to breathe and your cells need that air to prevent skin rashes, acne, and other common issues we see. It is better to let your body breathe at night, to give yourself the celebrity treatment even when you are just hanging in your apartment.

Paleo Shirataki Shrimp with Roasted Bok Choy

Paleo diet allows you to eat shirataki noodles, and they are pretty fabulous when you do it right.

I used to love bok choy when I was riding solo, and it was nourishing and filling at the same time.

I have a love for noodles too, so both combined are my dream meal.

I went ahead and described the recipe below, let me know if you have any questions in the comments.

First add garlic and extra virgin olive oil to the pan, add in some minced garlic on low.

After a few minutes add a can of vegetable broth, quarter cup of coconut milk, and give it a low boil.

Add peeled shrimp either raw or cooked and cook until it’s pink. Then turn off heat, and let cool.

Turn oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and prep a pan with sliced bok choy, mushrooms, onions, sliced ginger, and sprinkle it with soy sauce. Add a half cup of water to the bottom.

Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.

Take it out of the oven and let cool.

Once cooled reheat the broth mixture.

You can either add the roasted veggies to the broth itself, or add them on top depending on the consistency you crave.

More recently we came across information that scientists were able to bring a pig back to life after being dead for a month. True or False? Could have been another case of fake news.

Either way we were able to do our research and found the Top 10 Longest and Shortest life expectancy rate by country ranked below.

Let’s start with the lowest ranked countries first.

1. Central Africa at 50 years old for average life expectancy rate.

Make Up or Break Up?

Here are some ways to help you listen to your instincts rather then listen to others, as it could be time to cut the cord. Remember most do what is best for themselves.

1. You make up and break up often, and instinctually you know the other person is not the right person for you in the long run.

Rather than waste this persons valuable time it is best to move on if your gut is telling you you are not with the right one.

2. You don’t fully trust the person, not out of your own insecurities but there is visible proof of infidelity.

Also trusting your gut instincts are key here as well.

3. Is your partner able to be honest with you?

If not, and the honesty is not reciprocated, it’s probably good to commit to the break up.

4. Commit to your decision, pony up!

Flipping back and forth to yes and no I do or do not want to be with the person is not healthy for both of you. Committing to your decision and following through is crucial to respect yourself and honor your feelings.

5. Can you be honest with your partner forever?

Or is this just a temporary fix relationship for you? If it is a known temporary partnership, its better to step away and work on your independence and maturity.

6. Does he/she respect the other sex whether it be male/female?

If he hates his parents, it’s probably a good sign that he has relationship scars that can only be healed by themselves. You cannot do the healing for he/she.

7. Do you have an emergency plan?

If you don’t have an emergency cash fund if you are living with the person, it’s best to start it today. Wendy Williams calls it the F@$% You Fund, ha! This means you needs to get your things together and get out quick, just like Seinfeld says like a bandaid, right off!

8. Show Love, Compassion, and Take Ownership

If there is lying and cheating going on, it’s best to respect yourself and move on. I have seen long term relationships where the person has no respect for the other for years. This is a damn shame because life is short and should be meant to live happily. Take ownership for your decision and make plans ahead of time for a clean break.
