Welcome to the Cold Full Long Night Moon this Sunday, December 19th! Marking the start of winter solstice, this embarks a time of more consistent, and healthy habits as the cold days commence. By winter, historically most tribes have already harvested and stored their food and fur to stay healthy and warm during the chilly winter nights. This Cold Moon also means storing plenty of fire wood to keep warm for survival. Also known as the Oak Moon, plenty of tribes cut down trees or used fallen branches to use as kindling to start up fires that last. Since winter was so cold, the fires would last months if people tended to the fire hourly and had sufficient wood and time to keep all warm for winter. Using skins and fur from animal hydes, they would cover their homes to insulate them from mother nature’s cold winds and snow.

Throughout history, full moon festivals are commonly celebrated by certain tribes as they mark different seasons and survival tactics. These different seasons remain fairly consistent with the gregorian calendar, so people know what to expect to have to do to thrive rather than just simply survive. Here are some tips on how to watch the Cold Full Moon today.

The term lunacy originates from the full moon lunar cycle as people tend to have more wild and creative ideas during this time that the full moon helps spin to life. The Cold Full Moon is great time to pull out your crystals and charge them under the full moon light on your windowsill. Many like to sage their homes during this event to clear out any stale energies that may be stunting their growth.

The full moon is coming so it’s time to prepare for the things we’d like to create and manifest in upcoming months. As we embark on a brand new year, it’s important to reflect on the good and bad last year to reframe how you want to live and who you want to be in the new year.

There is a lot of different ways to manifest new beginnings as the cold full moon makes it’s presence known this Sunday, December 19th. This special time reminds us to take care of our physical selves and bodies as the holidays begin to start with Christmas then New Year’s. Starting to think about new goals that you’d like to achieve in 2022 are a good way to help keep ourselves honest and accountable.

As humans, this is a reminder that even during the mark of the cold winter months we remain resilient, strong and powerful. We don’t need anyone else tell us that we are on the right track, nor do we need anyone else’s approval to do what we need to do to get where we want to be. We each have our own unique purpose on the planet, so buying into the ideas of others ways that you are supposed to be in their eyes is not necessary to get you where you need to be. Remember, where you are now is where you are meant to be even if you think otherwise as there is always a reason for the season. Setting boundaries is key to scheduling in our goals that reflect our life purpose. There will unfortunately always be people that challenge our purpose, but you do not need permission or support from others to get what you want and need. Being mindful is key and also never giving up should be your mantra, even when times get tough , you get tougher. Things will always go in your direction when you manifest new beginnings, work hard and never give up.

Self care needs to happen first, and it will need to be prioritized in order to maintain healthy life balance to perform your best. This means getting a good nights sleep as staying up late nights over things you don’t have control over today is meaningless.

Seeing things to completion is necessary, although fatigue may bring you down, it’s okay to take care of yourself by taking 5 minute break with meditation and self care. Sometimes speaking your truth and explaining yourself or your opinions is not necessary. No one likes a blabber mouth, especially when you are not speaking your truth. You can’t take your words back, so make sure you are prepared to bring any ammunition you need to a conflict based on facts versus emotions. Pausing and taking time to respond, whether it be minutes, hours or days is okay too.

Make sure you are comfortable with the decisions you make for yourself before making unnecessary plans. There is no need to fix anyone else but you. The universe will continue to bring us into our higher purpose. So life now is pulling us into a bigger life with a bigger purpose. This time may feel uncomfortable however the universe is setting us up for everything we need. Take time to be content and happy for where we are now, and what it took to get here. Don’t take the days for granted, remember anything can happen.

We are walking towards a new destiny, and we are not bound to any other people but our own purpose on this planet. Leaving people for a higher energy is okay, sometimes old energy needs to leave and some friends have to go with it. Leave time to mourn as change is definite especially during the Cold Full Night Long Moon.

Remember that working hard to be happier is good. It is important to realize that we need to put ourselves first as we walk away from low vibrational, negative energy. It is time to move on and the Cold Full Nights Moon starts this new release of the old. Remember like your mother said, out with the old and in with the new!

Change up the day by changing up your mindset. Health is wealth. It is important to clean up your home properly so that energy is cleared for new beginnings. We will be juggling and moving a lot of things around this season, so reassessing what you have to do and what you need to do will help you dictate a more positive and healthy schedule that works best for you.

What are you going to do for the last full cold moon cycle of 2021?
