I love being in my normal weight range, and that was only truly possible with the Paleo diet. The way I look today came from foregoing sugar and complex carbs, and I am healthier than I have ever been.
The reality is however, I still crave sweets! The only way I can survive that time of the month and getting through a stressful week is by having sweet treats available at hand, just in case of an emergency.
I definitely emotionally ate in the past, and didn’t pay attention to my personal needs. My body suffered. I needed to change, but I had no idea how. Thank god I was hopelessly browsing through Instagram one day and came across Busy Phillips doing the Whole30 diet. I had to give it a shot.
The first round I lost 18 pounds, but shortly after gained it back. I tried Whole30 again and did it for a longer period of time, lost the weight, but then gained it back once I started eating unclean again.
I had had enough. I needed a diet that would work for me. I ended up browsing through Pinterest and learned about the Paleo diet. The only way I knew it would work for me was by taking the leap and giving it a chance.
I did, and I will NEVER LOOK BACK!
If you are on the Paleo diet now, you are very aware of the restrictions. No more regular sugar filled cakes, pies and cookies. Coconut sugar is the only way to go, and it is actually no so bad once your body gets used to it.
Here are 6 perfect Paleo pastries and desserts to curb that craving and go for the golden goodness of Paleo friendly desserts!
- PEANUT BUTTER BALLS
- ALMOND FLOUR SHORTBREAD COOKIES
- PALEO PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES
- PALEO COOKIE DOUGH
- PALEO PECAN SNOWBALLS
- PALEO PECAN PIE
As you can clearly see, I grew up on peanut butter, shortbread, cookie dough and pecan related desserts. I wouldn’t have done the Paleo diet without these perfect desserts and I am so happy I found them!
Sharing the love here, and hope you have a lovely day!

I’m not saying this will short-circuit sugar- and carb-loaded cravings all the time, but I frequently have found a snack of nuts and grape tomatoes to be quite satisfying. Particularly when you alternate between the two. Each brings out the best in the other. The tomatoes make the nuts more savory, and the macadamias, etc. really accentuate the tomatoes’ sweetness.
Plus, grape tomatoes (though not, alas, all tomatoes) are pretty good year-round. Sure, they’re well-nigh perfect in late summer, but they’re distinctive in January too. That’s to say, right now!
Great tip! TY for sharing it. ♥️
