Nothing says it’s Christmas more than enjoying our Baked Clams!

Surprisingly, you don’t necessarily need to get fresh chopped clams at the Seafood store either. Your local supermarket should have a seafood section and may be able to deshell and pull out the clams from the shell himself. He can then chop up about a quart size bucket worth of clams for this particular recipe that I can guarantee you’ll love.

I feel like adding seafood to your Christmas repertoire of appetizers really classes it up. Plus you can grab a pound of raw shelled shrimp for Shrimp Cocktail too!

Here is the Christmas Appetizer recipe for Baked Clams.

Ingredients

1 Quart of Chopped Baked Clams (drain the clam juice and set aside for later)

1/2 pound of melted butter

6 tablespoons of chopped onions

2 teaspoons of chopped garlic (3 to 4 cloves worth)

3 sprinkles of garlic salt

1/2 cup of fresh chopped parsley

1 teaspoon of dry basil

2 cups of bread crumbs

1 1/2 cups of parmesan cheese

6 or 7 strips of bacon

Steps

1st Add butter, garlic, and onion in a pan on low heat until translucent

2nd Add parmesan and bread crumbs and turn off heat

3rd Add clams but not the clam juice

4th Add all the rest of the ingredients along with the clam juice

5th Either bake in a 9×12 glass pan at 350 degrees Fahrenheit OR you can scoop the mixture into little aluminum heart clam tins

6th Let cool then eat! You can add sliced lemons on the side for those that like a little fresh lemon juice on top.
