10 Inexpensive Ways to Enjoy Fall

Times are tough.

Many are on a limited budget and living with children, elders, and spouses and wondering what the heck to do this fall with our weird flu issues.

Here are some great ideas to get you out and about in order to treat yourself and your senses.

1. Nature Walk

Everyone loves nature and specifically now the leaves are changing from green to red to orange to yellow to brown. It is a great time to frolick about nature and soak in the true essence of nature and all it’s healing beauty.

2. Watch the Waves

The ocean is a force to be reckoned with and we’ve fully enjoyed walking by the sea shore and admiring the waves. It’s a great time to appreciate water and relax the senses.

3. Build a Sandcastle

When in roam on the beach, building sandcastles is a nice way to be creative while settling into nature.

4. Make the House Smell of Cinnamon

If you have some extra cinnamon in the house, along with a pot of water, set it on the stove on low heat for 10 minutes and your house will smell of fresh baked cinnamon buns without the calories.

5. Splurge on a Pumpkin Spiced Latte from Starbucks

Nothing like a drive thru Starbicks to perk you right up, while enjoying the fall essences of pumpkin, spice, and everything nice.

6. Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

You can buy an inexpensive pumpkin at your local farm direct or check out your local grocer and buy a pumpkin. Here you can cut the pumpkin, pull out the seeds, place on a pan, cover in salt, and roast for 45 minutes at 300 degrees.

7. Decorate a Pumpkin

If it’s too soon for a Jack o lantern, use markers, glue, tissue paper, and design a mock pumpkin. Get creative! Animals, people or objects are fun to make and easy to create.

8. Make a Homemade Fall Wreath

You can use dried leaves, sticks, flowers, or whatever you want to create a nice fall wreath for your front door. It’s welcoming and people love to see the festivity as it makes them smile.

9. Visit Your Local Farm

Then buy something! It’s great to support your local farmers!

10. Take a Bike Ride

This is a great way to see what is going on in your community, but also a great way to get the blood flowing and your natural endorphins up!
