Turkey day is soon on it’s way! There’s no day but today to start brainstorming the Thanksgiving menu to get you prepped ahead of time and PUMPED up and ready to SHOP!

Turkeys go fast in my town, so I like to get my turkey early this way I can take it out of the freezer 3 days before to defrost in the refrigerator. Timing is everything here so making sure that critical step gets done, you’ll be ahead of the game. The ratio of cooking time depends on the size of the turkey. General timing for cooking a turkey is 15-20 minutes per pound. The simple trick is to baste the turkey in it’s own juices every hour upon the hour to help seal in the juicy meat. Also let rest for an hour after pulling it out of the oven so the juices can further settle inside.

I always try to plan Thanksgiving as far ahead as possible so I get it right, and there are no surprises. Having family and friends over is a lot of pressure, so having the menu and timing out ahead of time will help keep you on track while your family and friends mingle and talk amongst themselves.
