I carry your heart with me (I carry it in my heart). I am never without it (anywhere I go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling). I fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet). I want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true) and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that ‘s keeping the stars apart. I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart). Winston Porter
MAPS. I am yours. I am yours as the stars belong to the sky and I am yours as the rivers belong to the sea. I am yours as your tears belong to your eyes and I am yours as your lungs belong to the pattern in which you breathe. Christopher Poindexter
There are two things in this world I know to be true: one, I am in love (and it has tangled itself around me, inexplicably), two, it is with you (and I have wrapped myself in your existence). Tempest
SANCTUARY. You took me where cosmos bloom with the euphoric spell of a lovesome kiss. Your arms held me like a dreamier moment, that you wished to engrave in your heart and your skin. We spoke of how the sun is never crescent – and how the moon, is not always full. We spoke of how you are mine, completely. And my soul – my body, belong only to you. Clairel Estevez
I WANT TO SEE YOU. I want to see you. Know your voice. Recognize you when you first come round the corner. Sense your scent when I come into a room you’ve just left. Know the lift of your heel, the glide of your foot. Become familiar with the way you purse your lips then let them part, just the slightest bit. When I lean in to your space and kiss you. I want to know the joy of how you whisper more. Rumi
THE LAUGHING HEART. Your life is your life. Don’t let it be clubbed into dank submission. Be on the watch. There are ways out. There is light somewhere. It may not be much light but it beats the darkness. Be on the watch. The gods will offer you chances. Know them. Take them. You can’t beat death but you can beat death in life, sometimes. And the more often you learn to do it, the more light there will be. Your life is your life. Know it while you have it. You are marvelous and the gods wait to delight in you. Charles Bakowski
You and I have so much love, that it burns like a fire, in which we bake a lump of clay molded into a figure of me. Then we take both of them, and break them into pieces, and mix the pieces with water, and mold again a figure of you. And a figure of me. I am in your clay. In life we share a single quilt, in death we will share one bed. Kuan Tao-Sheng
MY ONLY LOVE. Just to say I love you never seems enough. I’ve said it so many times I am afraid you won’t understand what I really mean when I say it. How can so much feeling, so much adoration possibly fir into those three little words, but until I find some other way of saying what I feel, then “I love you” will have to do, so no matter how many times I say it, never take it lightly, for you are my life, and my only love. I love you now more than ever before.
To ink my words? Now where to begin. To express what I feel, that feeling within. Your eyes, your smile, they melt my heart, I yearn for your hugs when we’re apart. That time will come when you hold me tight our life together like a start shining bright. Hayley Berry
Love is not a thing you get a lot, but love the girl you have got. She is always there to care for you the thing we have is oh so true… She is so sweet and kind and she’s the only girl on my mind. Our love is not a game, we love each other just the same. She is my princess and my life I can’t wait for the day to make her my wife. Then I can be with her 24/7 and she is the girl that I take to heaven.
My love for you is like the raging sea, so powerful and deep it will forever be, through storm, wind and heavy rain, it will withstand every pain.
Sitting next to you is like taking a sip of eternity, the sun, the stars, the sky, never tasted so good. Christy Ann Martine
This is my confession. As dark as I am, I will always find enough light to adore you to pieces with all of my pieces. Johnny Nguyen
In all the times we have fought through the darkest nights, your love has been a shining light that has kept us on the right path. Thank you, Queen.
EVERYTHING TO ME. You are the light when there is no sun. You are the rainbow after the rain is done. You are the star that twinkles in the night. You are the moon that glows so bright. You are the wind that whistles my name. You are the love when the world is same. You are the flowers the bee’s never miss.
PROXIMITY. We joined the dots from A to B, the line we drew from you to me, traced empty shores across the sea, over mountain top, past forest tree, along the roads and walking tracks, all bridges burned, no looking back, for the love we have, no gate can stop, no barking dog or bolted lock, for what is real is meant to be, when two hearts beat – in proximity. Michael Faudet
In this space right here that we have made for each other, you can say anything and I will not abandon you. Unwrap the worst things you have done. Watch me hold them up to the light and not even flinch. Trista Mateer
Let’s run away and find a field of sunflowers. We’ll let them teach us their choreographed dance they do with the wind. We’ll wander back home and do the same dance in our living room, remembering the freedom we felt with the dancing petals. And those days we don’t feel like dancing, we’ll remember there is always a place we can go to get away from it all. R.H. Swaney
THE SUN AND THE MOON. Aim for a love that reminds you of the devotion the sun has to the moon. Whether she is in fractions or she is whole, he still shrouds his intense light in the darkness of the night. To give her the entire sky, without judgement, so she can shine in any way she wants to. You deserve someone who adores you on the days you are broken in fragments too. You deserve someone who lets you glow in every way you need to. Nikita Gill
Dear future lover, teach me how to love wihtout running with my eyes shut. Teach me how to love without filling hollow hearts until I’ve become a shell of myself. Teach me how to love without becoming a land mine on the inside. Teach me that love is not war but peacetime in your eyes. K.Y. Robinson
SHOULD, SHOULDER, SLOW, SLOW. I had this dream that we somehow evolved without vocal chords and the only way we could talk to each other was by touching our own or each other’s skin. And entire books were written entirely in hugs and hand holding and letting go of each other and we’d hold and touch and let go of each other in all these different ways to say all these different things. And when Neil Armstrong landed on the moon he just put his hand over his heart and held it there with his other hand and it said everything to everyone watching at home and the news presenter did the same and so did everyone else. And there are museums you can go to, in my dream, where they have a set of mechanical hands and you put them against your heart and you can hear his exact words as he said them. And when people got married everyone just held each other’s hands in a circle and cried and all the funerals in my dream looked exactly the same. And the people with the lightest fingers spoke so softly. And fishermen and workers had low gravelly voices. And I dreamed this dream for so long, I learned how to speak entirely in touch. And I write poetry on my wife’s back every evening before she sleeps. And her skin and her nerve ending are a kind of paper than only remembers the ink written on it for a moment. And while it loses something in my terrible translation, my favorite work goes, “shoulder, shoulder, slow, slow, neck, arm, back, curve, slow, slow, shoulder, shoulder, slow, slow, neck, arm, back, curve, slow, slow.” And it is so much more eloquent than anything I’ve ever said and so much more beautiful than anything I’ve ever written, with words. Iain Thomas
