There are limited things to do with kids when it’s raining. Once the rain stopped yesterday, we headed out to the Indian Store to pick up chapati that we can pair with eggs and chicken. It is almost like a Spanish tortilla but better. Much better. You can also pair the chapati with sweets like fried apples and cinnamon.
After we headed to our first destination, I was in the mood for coffee. Dunkin’ Donuts is by far the best coffee out there. Let me know if you agree or disagree in the comments below!
As we drove around we passed by all the wet playgrounds and sighed. There are other places we decided to drive by that were more exciting. Some of the churches were pretty to pass by, we passed by some cool road work where there were cranes lifting building materials, and we passed by some Los Angeles schools that were all empty. It’s a weird thing to see most places closed now. The pandemic has brought us all together as a family, and we will never have this kind of bonding time with them ever again. School is supposed to go back in a month, but I don’t think it will actually happen. I am trying to savor the moments, but it gets really boring.
On that note, I have been getting into a lot of the foreign murder mysteries on Netflix. Behind Her Eyes and Reckoning were worth the watch. I have been streaming podcasts on YouTube as well, including comedians I love podcasts like Stephen Lee’s Tigerbelly and Whitney Cummings, Good For You. Do you have any other podcasts recommendations? If so, please let me know! I am in test mode now and happy to receive everyone’s favorite podcasts.
I am in recovery in a 12 Step program called Al Anon and talked to my sponsor today about Step 4. It is a step that basically categorizes all of the people you have resentments against and then building a list of all your positive and negative characteristics. It is taking a deeper look into yourself and understanding your fears and ways that you be a better you. We talked about the different things I could do to help me. I really enjoy going to meetings, as it’s a great way to get wisdom from others and also a good way to socialize during this down time and hunker downing.
There are a few new habits that I’d like to get into, including using my rowing machine and waking up earlier to write. If you are looking for certain topics, let me know in the comments below. I feel like I have written a lot about work and change. I have pulled together a ton of quotes from artists and musicians that I admire. I have pulled together a ton of Paleo recipes because I love the diet and it helped me lose over 30 pounds. I didn’t realize I was allergic to sugar and dairy, now I know!
What is going on for you today? Curious to see what you are up to, and thanks for listening to my writing rambling!
