The Stops + Go’s of Living a Better Life

Everyone wants to live a better life. Even if you already have a great life, there is always room to have a better one.

There are many things we can do to live a better life. On the flip side, there are also things we should not do to enhance our lives.

THE STOPS

Stop making excuses.

There are 24 hours in a day. 8 hours for sleeping leaves you with 16 hours left. Make time daily to contribute to your goals, and define these goals from a yearly, quarterly, monthly, and daily basis. If you can chop at your goals daily, you are more likely to reach your long term goals more quickly than you think. Make a plan, and stick to it.

Stop blaming others for your incompentencies or your mood.

You are the only person in charge of how and where you show up, and you are the sum of the 5 people closest to you. Hang with the crowd you want to be a part of, and aim high for people of quality and caliber both morally and ethically. It is good to align with the people you want to be like, more than the people you don’t.

Stop doubting yourself.

You are capable of anything you put your mind to if you have a solid plan. If the plan doesn’t work, you need to adjust your plan and try a new angle. This method can be applied to work life, personal life, and home life.

Stop trying to make others happy, or depend on others for your happiness.

Being a people pleasure when you are not fulfilled yourself is not going to help you. You need to be happy with yourself and build your own self esteem through hard work and self care. Depending on others for your happiness with only make you miserable and showing up for yourself is always numero uno.

Stop letting media, society, friends or family tell you how to live.

Different strokes for different folks. How boring would it be if we all wanted to do the same thing? Boring ville nation. Ignore the haters, and do you.

The Go’s

Express your inner creativity through music, dance, art, writing, and playing.

It’s good to play and test different thoughts and parts on music, dance, and more and explore yourself through art.

Go outside for a long stroll, and unplug from technology.

Limit your screen time and schedule long walks in nature to recharge your brain and strengthen your senses.

Make everything you want happen.

When you have an action plan, you can make anything happen

Be positive and happy, while grateful for the small things.

It’s good to be excited for the big things, but give thanks to your higher power for the little things. The little things usually end up being the big things.

Now you know that you are in charge and capable of creating your own happiness, now it is time to let others know that they are in charge of their own happiness too.

Anything is possible, so spread the love!
