I literally was just talking to my son about what type of animal he’d like to be.

He quite curtly responded, ‘no animal, I just want to be a kid.’

‘Oh okay,’ I said.

Was it lockdown or adulthood that makes me want to transform into an animal vs an adult human mom boss? 

Not sure. But if I had to pick 5 animals that I’d like to turn into, this is what I’d choose.

1. A seagull

They get to fly across the Pacific Coast Highway, up mountains, and aren’t afraid to beg for you McDonalds on the beach. The ability to fly is really appealing and I’d rather fly as a seagull them a man in a RedBull wingman suit. I’d like to try their cliff diving but I don’t think I’d make it. Merp.

2. An elephant

I feel like I like to blackout certain years and I don’t have a good longterm memory, so becoming an elephant would offset it all. An elephant has tough skin, great bonds with their families, and can travel far distances. These are all pretty desirable for me too.

3. An owl.

Although I try to get to bed before 8pm, I do think I’d love to become an owl. It can turn it’s head in any direction so it can spot a friend or foe from long distances. It goes whoo, who, which is funny. It also flies in the nighttime, so I think it would be fun to fly above in the darkness with all the lights below.

4. A dolphin

Who doesn’t like to have sex for pleasure? A dolphin is the only.other mammal other than a human to have sex for pleasure, however this isn’t the reason I’d like to become a dolphin. It is mainly for the swimming and jumping out of water and into waves for fun.

5. A turtle

Turtles love the beach and the sea, which gives them the best of both worlds. They bury their eggs right in the sand and their babies hatch and crawl to the water for the first time. I think it would be cool to see my baby for the first time underwater to the point that I want to have a water birth next time around. If you ask my husband there won’t be a next time, lol!
