Happy Fourth of July, y’all! And what a year it has been for all of us. With COVID, unemployment on the rise, BLM protests, Asian Hate Crimes, and an overall unrest worldwide, we persevere.
The summer has brought some ups and downs for sure. As homeschooling ending for my children, all of a sudden we had a ton of free time on our hands. We have done everything under the sun, coasted on the nearest lazy rivers, made artwork, baked cakes, went shopping; we even did homework we hadn’t finished the year before if you can believe it.
Now that the Fourth of July is here, we do only have a month and a week or so left of summer break and I really want to enjoy it.
With that, the Fourth of July has always been an exciting celebration for me. My neighborhood growing up always had a big parade and American flags were flown, hot dogs were eaten, and the alcohol was flowing. As I get older, alcohol isn’t my drink of choice and I lean toward paleo foods that are sugar free to help improve my mood and keep my head clear of major sugar head fog.
