Wowser, it was a tough year but we got through it. Now that 2021 is here I have been looking at my blog more as a business than a hobby. I have made revenue goals, view goals, user and follower goals, along with comments and likes goals. I do this on a monthly basis to help me understand my progress.

In order to thwart progress, I have put a Q1 2021 monthly goal list together that makes me shoot for 10% better growth wise month over month. December 2020 was our best month ever, and I am so thankful for everyone that has followed me and supported my blog. You are probably a fellow blogger and creator as well, so you also know how hard it is to get a blog up and running. The creative writing process is interesting and up until now I have being writing what I am interested in at the time. There is not really a rhythm and rhyme to it yet.

I get inspiration from other bloggers like you, but have also branched out to social networks like Medium, Instagram, LinkedIn, Quora and more. This sparks creativity in me, and then I shoot for writing what inspires me most that day.

I thought it would be fun to pull together a list of my top 20 articles of 2020. I figured you may not have been able to read them all, and there were some really information and self improvement articles that I think could really help you as we sail into 2021.

Here’s the list and happy reading!

The Game of Life Affirmations by Florence Scovel Shinn – This is an interesting article that walks us through the ways the universe works and how our tongue is our wand, creating what we speak and what we do. She talks about real life karma that can be instant in some peoples experiences but slower in others however she talks about how karma always comes back to get you.

How to Quickly Identify False Faux Narratives and Contain a Fear Fire – Many of us have experienced different hardships in 2020 as our government, health, and communication failed us. Sweet Paleo Treats for Thanksgiving – If you are like me, you are middle aged and tired of being overweight, fat, and lazy. Although I am doing the Paleo diet and have lost over 30 pounds this year, I still have a sweet tooth. Since Paleo dieters cannot eat raw sugar, I’ve pulled together some sweet paleo treats that you will enjoy all year round. This is a great article to bookmark especially during that time of month for the ladies. For the men, I am sure you love to stress eat with sweets too so there are a few manly recipes for you too.

4 Haunted Hotels to Visit in Los Angeles, Halloween Style – We live in Los Angeles and there are so many different ghost tours and haunted hotels and houses out there! There is a rich history of famous rich celebrities and success stories alike, and that always leaves some poor souls behind that are looking for closure. Luckily for you, we put together a list of the top 4 haunted hotels in Los Angeles for you to visit anytime. It is fun to learn the backstory of each, and learn more about the famous people that strolled through these hotels at the peaks of their careers. I don’t know about you but I have been into some of the scary series Netflix has now and the Richard Ramirez LA Serial Killer series is a great spooky real life tale of another misplaced Angeleno looking for revenge. Check that out when you have the chance!

Rejection is Redirection – This was a great one especially for the horrible year many of us had! Many of us were laid off, unemployed, and had to home school the kids. This was a complete nightmare, and it still is rolling out while we patiently work from home and do our best despite the awful circumstances. As COVID numbers continue to rise, this article talks about the benefits of spending time with your family and reflecting on where you have been up until now. It gives us a time to reflect on the environments that were healthy for us and the environments that were not. It gives us time to reflect on what friends and family members are good for our mental and physical health and those that are not. There is a collective transition period that everyone is going through now, and it is an emotional time to be a human that needs to heal past wounds. But here we are. We made it and we put together some quotes to remind you that we are right where we are supposed to be this year. Love you!

A Visual Stroll Through a Sensory Garden – There is something really magical about Malibu. The nature is pristine and organic. The seagulls and wildlife are so free and ready to glide to the next beach. As we went on discovery mode in 2020, we found a Zen Garden that really helped us remain peaceful and joyous during this tough time. We hope you enjoy it, as this is something you could implement in your own backyard if you were up for it.

15 Secret Things to do in Lake Arrowhead – If you are living in California, and have not gone to Lake Arrowhead yet, we highly recommend it. Lake Arrowhead is a man made lake that was originally built to collect all of the water from the melting snow to feed and water the orchards of fruits below on the mountains. It is about 2 hours north of Los Angeles. The drive up the mountain can make anyone a little dizzy, so make sure you stop on the sides if you need a breather. We had a great time exploring there with the kids and we’d recommend it for anyone looking to take a break and get out of the city.

How to be ‘THE GOODEST’ Mom During the Pandemic – Homeschooling kids was no joke, so props to all those working moms out there teaching there kids how to read, write and work out math problems. We became the lunch lady, the principal, the home economics, the PE, and the teacher all in one year. How many hats can a women wear nowadays? Do you need another? I think not. We are doing everything we can to survive and major kudos to any lady that has been able to maintain her sanity during this time. The pressure has really built for those perfectionists out there (you know who you are), and it’s time to pay major respect to those working woman doing their best for their kids. Remember, it’s okay to take a break and take care of yourself. Giving yourself alone time is really important in times of high stress and we highly recommend doing 5 minutes of meditation daily to recenter and regroup as the realities of having our kids 24/7 kick in. Stay AMAZING!
